Short term
(Rest of today through Thursday) Issued at 1037 AM CDT Wed Oct 28 2026
Some clouds around this morning on satellite, moving to the NE as we get into the afternoon. No hazardous weather is expected for the short term period, with sunny and dry conditions. Highs will continue to warm into the upper 70s, with the possibility of touching 80 degrees in the next few days. Skies will continue to be mostly clear until we get into Friday, when clouds will build into Middle Tennessee ahead of a system on Saturday.
Long term
(Thursday Night through next Wednesday) Issued at 1037 AM CDT Wed Oct 28 2026
The ridge that has had its grip on us for the last little bit will flatten into this weekend, allowing some rain to finally visit Middle Tennessee. Unfortunately, it also happens to be Halloween and into the next work week that this rain has decided to come. Rain amounts for the period of Saturday through mid-week next week have come down a bit, but are still above an inch and a half in areas west of I-65. East of I-65, amounts are between half an inch and an inch and a half. Most likely period for heaviest rainfall right now looks to be late Saturday night into Sunday morning, with another disturbance coming in on Monday. Probabilities for rain during Trick or Treating time are less than 30% right now according to the NBM, but we will continue to monitor this time frame. Temperatures will briefly drop into the 60s for highs on Sunday before warming back into the 70s for highs for the work week. So our pattern of crisp mornings and warm afternoons is expected to continue, even if the pattern of dry and sunny is not.
