Key messages
Updated at 1009 PM CDT Mon Oct 26 2026
- Warm, sunny days and cool, clear nights will continue through the work week.
- No rain is expected through at least Friday night, but the weather pattern will begin to shift next weekend.
- Drought conditions will continue to worsen in the near-term.
Short term
(Tonight through Wednesday Night) Issued at 1009 PM CDT Mon Oct 26 2026
We're seeing a few more clouds across Middle Tennessee than past days, and the 00Z sounding from OHX does show considerable upper- level moisture. Daytime highs were slightly lower than yesterday's readings, although the low/mid-levels remain very dry. Once again, we're expecting areas of fog overnight as temperatures cool rapidly through the evening. Looking ahead, expect continued low afternoon RH values, but winds will remain relatively light, so that will keep the fire danger contained despite the fact the fuels continue to dry out.
Long term
(Thursday through next Tuesday) Issued at 1009 PM CDT Mon Oct 26 2026
Temperatures will gradually warm the remainder of the week as high pressure maintains its grips on our weather pattern. Finally, this weekend, we expect the high pressure to break down as we transition to a more unsettled weather pattern. Rain chances will develop on Saturday, with better rain chances Saturday night and into Sunday. A second active weather system looks to impact the mid state early next week so that we'll have multiple days with appreciable rain chances.
Aviation
(00Z TAFS) Issued at 605 PM CDT Mon Oct 26 2026
VFR conditions prevail through the TAF period with just high clouds and light winds at or less than 5 knots.
