Ridging over north-central Mexico will maintain hot and dry conditions through the weekend. Temperatures remain warm for late October/early November, with highs in the upper 80s to 90s, gradually climbing each afternoon through Monday ahead of our next front. A closed low will dig into the Southern Plains early next week, delivering a cold front to deep South Texas on Election Day. Highs on Tuesday will depend on the fronts arrival time and how early CAA begins. Rain chances have consistently stayed low along the front for the CWA, with a line of showers and thunderstorms possibly clipping the northern Ranchlands and coast. Cooler, drier conditions return Wednesday behind the front, with highs in the mid to upper 80s.
At local beaches, persistent easterly flow and higher than usual tides will continue to contribute to elevated water levels and minor coastal flooding through the weekend. A Coastal Flood Statement will be extended through Sunday. Tide levels should begin decreasing early next week.
