- Warm and dry weather ends the week, including thru much of the day Saturday.
- Wet weather chances hit first this weekend, with best chances still between midnight Saturday night and midday Sunday; cumulative amounts totalling generally 1/4-3/4".
- Next best wet weather chances hit mid week next with another 3/4 to 1.5 inches cumulative rainfall potential.
- The onset of rain chances will drive temperatures closer to seasonal with upper 60s to lower 70s highs daily next week.
Discussion
Issued at 1200 PM CDT Fri Oct 30 2026
High pressure holds dry and warm weather into the first half of the weekend, although high clouds will increase and thicken. That occurs in advance of our first rain chance in awhile. The best chance of rain still looks to be between midnight Saturday night and midday Sunday, when the bulk of the 1/4 to 3/4 inches of cumulative rains should fall.
After this weekend, daily rain chances carry thru next week, with the best such chances Tuesday into Wednesday. That is when the bulk of the 3/4 to 1.5 inches cumulative rain falls over that time period, with some isolated higher totals upward to 2 inches possible farther west (Ozarks).
The onset of these rain chances means temperatures are driven back closer to seasonal norms with daily highs next week ranging from the upper half 60s to lower 70s. Adding to the more seasonal autumnal feel will be breezier winds with the aforementioned parent storm system's approach, arrival, and departure during the mid week period.

SCT-BKN 5-6K FT AGL bases seen on satellite may impact KMVN mainly, otherwise anticipate an increase from FEW-SCT250 to BKN-OVC250 at all terminals, thickening with time. Winds will remain on the light side while gradually veering to SE.
