Short term
(Tonight through Saturday) Issued at 1020 PM CDT Thu Oct 29 2026
Still not much to talk about through the short-term. High pressure keeps things quiet with only clouds moving into the area. Lows tonight will fall mainly into the 40s. High temperatures Friday will be above normal still as readings make it into the upper-70s to low- 80s as these dry conditions continue.
The high will break down on Saturday as a storm system approaches from the west. Cloud cover will continue to increase Saturday ahead of this system, but the good news for those with important Halloween plans is that rain still looks to hold off until Saturday night. Low chance for light rain showers for southwest Middle TN Saturday evening, but the bulk of the activity is expected Saturday night and into Sunday. Temperatures for trick-or-treating will be in the upper- 60s to low-70s.
Long term
(Saturday Night through next Friday) Issued at 1020 PM CDT Thu Oct 29 2026
Moisture continues to stream into the area Saturday night and early Sunday, resulting in high rain chances. Unfortunately, it's still not looking impressive as far as rain amounts with forecast rain amounts less than one inch. Rain tapers off Sunday evening with drier weather returning for the start of the work week. But by Tuesday, another low pressure system takes shape to our west. This system will bring additional rain to Middle TN during the mid-week period. There's still hope that this system brings more meaningful rainfall with still high probabilities of 60-70% of getting at least an inch and a 25-35% chance of some locations picking up closer to two inches. Forecast soundings don't show much in the way of instability so thunderstorm potential looks very low.
Aviation
(00Z TAFS) Issued at 610 PM CDT Thu Oct 29 2026
