- Hazardous conditions persist along the Atlantic coastline of Central Florida. Rough surf and numerous life-threatening rip currents are expected at beaches across the area through the weekend. Coastal flooding is still expected along portions of the Treasure Coast at high tide.
- Greater coverage of rain and a few storms is likely (60-80%) on Sunday and Monday. 1 to 3 inches of rain is forecast, with a 5-10% chance of exceeding 5 inches. Flash flooding is possible, especially where soils are already saturated.
- Boating conditions also remain hazardous into the weekend as another surge of fresh easterly winds reaches the local Atlantic.
Discussion
Issued at 257 PM EDT Fri Oct 30 2026
Current-Saturday: A pocket of deeper moisture (PWAT ~1.8-2.0") has supported persistent rounds of showers across the Treasure Coast and Okeechobee county today. Further north, coverage of showers has remained more isolated, still managing to reach areas far inland and west of the Orlando Metro at times. Most guidance points to a diminishing trend across areas north of Cape Canaveral and the Orlando Metro late this afternoon while rounds of at least isolated showers should generally persist along portions of the Treasure Coast into this evening and overnight. While not as breezy as recent days, wind gusts of 20-25 mph have been observed across portions of east central Florida today. The pressure gradient tightens on Saturday as high pressure further builds over the eastern U.S. Winds respond, with gusts increasing 25-30 mph at times into Saturday afternoon. The deepest moisture should generally persist across southern portions of the forecast area early this weekend with best chances for rounds of onshore moving showers (~40-60%) continuing mostly south of Cape Canaveral tomorrow. Lightning chances remain 20% or less, and strong storms are not expected. Cloudy skies continue with high temperatures ranging the low to mid 80s.
Hazardous conditions persists at area beaches. A high risk of life threatening rip currents continues, and entering the water is not advised. While a period of high astronomical tides continue, P-ETTS guidance keeps Saturday morning's high tide cycle below Minor flood stage, and the Coastal Flood Advisory has been allowed to expire from Indian River northward. However, will maintain the Coastal Flood Advisory to include Saturday afternoon's high tide cycle along the St. Lucie and Martin coast as guidance at the Lake Worth Pier may suggest the potential for Moderate coastal flood impacts to continue.
Sunday-Monday: Ridging aloft breaks down on Sunday as a mid level disturbance approaches and passes over central Florida. Moisture increases late in the weekend as a stalled surface boundary over south Florida begins to lift northward. Rain chances (60-80%) notably increase late in the day Sunday, continuing through the overnight and into Monday. Ensemble and probabilistic guidance has pointed to the potential for a heavy rainfall threat as rain chances increase, and multiple ensemble suites suggest average 24 hour precip totals exceeding 1-2 inches across much of east central Florida. A Marginal Risk for excessive rainfall exists areawide Sunday and Sunday night, and will continue to keep an eye on areas of southern Brevard and the Treasure Coast where soils remain saturated and locally higher QPF totals are currently modeled.
Beyond the rainfall forecast, expect breezy and gusty onshore winds to persist on Sunday before slackening just a little on Monday. Increased cloudiness and precip will hold temperatures near seasonal values in the upper 70s and low 80s each day.
Tuesday-Friday (previous): Heavy rain potential abates beginning Tuesday, but 30-50% shower chances linger for the middle of the week as sufficient moisture remains in place. More intervals of sun should return, and winds become noticeably lighter by Wednesday. This will allow high temps to warm back into the low and mid 80s for the middle of the week.
A cold front is forecast to reach Central Florida around Thursday. Indications are that the front will be weakening on approach, but it may squeeze out a band of showers and a few storms. Severe weather potential currently appears limited.
Drier and perhaps slightly cooler air drifts toward the state behind the front on Friday. The less humid conditions should make for cooler nighttime conditions, but afternoons still look warm.

High pressure builds over the eastern U.S. into the weekend, maintaining a tight pressure gradient over the local waters. East- northeast winds mostly 15-20 kts through tonight will increase to 20- 25 kts through the day tomorrow, continuing through the weekend. Seas 6-8 ft may subside slightly overnight before building 7-9 ft Saturday and Sunday. Small Craft Advisories remain in effect across the offshore waters as well as nearshore portions of Brevard and the Treasure Coast, expanding areawide Saturday afternoon. These hazardous boating conditions continue through the remainder of the weekend, slowly improving early next week. A disturbance arriving Sunday is forecast to increase coverage of showers and storms late this weekend.

Scattered SHRA will continue to move onshore along the Treasure Coast over the next few hours, occasionally producing MVFR CIG/VIS. Coverage is forecast to decrease through 4Z, though VCSH will persist through the overnight hours. Onshore flow remains breezy along the coast, at 9-12 kts, though diminishes to below 10 kts inland. SHRA is forecast again after 14Z along the coast, moving progressively inland and north after 20Z. TEMPOs may be needed at times for reductions, though confidence on timing and placement is low. CIGs near 030 are forecast and may become BKN at times. ENE winds increase to 12-15 kts once again late in the morning, with gusts 20-25 kts, especially at the coast.
