Discussion
KEY MESSAGE 1: No significant weather concerns this week.
High pressure centered over the Province of Ontario, north of the Great Lakes and south of Hudson Bay, will build east tonight and will be centered over New England on Wednesday. The high then moves offshore into the western Atlantic as the week progresses. A weak cold front passes through the region Friday, and then high pressure returns for the weekend. Low pressure may approach the region for the start of next week.
With high pressure settling north of the area tonight, excellent radiational cooling conditions set up with clear skies and light winds. Will opt for the colder NBM10 guidance for low temperatures in the 30s to low 40s. Not expecting frost or freeze conditions where the growing season is still in effect.
Otherwise, dry conditions through Saturday with high temperatures generally from the mid and upper 60s on Wednesday to the mid 70s or so by Friday. Cooler, but still slightly above normal temperatures expected for this weekend. Rain may arrive on Sunday or Monday depending on the timing, strength, and placement of that aforementioned low pressure system.
