Today and Tonight

High pressure will provide dry weather through tonight. High temperatures will range from the mid-50s to mid-60s. Low temperatures will range from the lower 30s to lower 40s.

Friday into Saturday Night

The surface high will move east from the Great Lakes into the Mid-Atlantic region. As this high moves away, 850 mb moisture transport will gradually increase ahead of a slowly moving shortwave trough embedded in the southwest flow aloft. This system will produce showers as it moves slowly northeast through the region. Rainfall amounts will be up to a quarter of an inch. The probabilities for greater than this total is up to 20 percent north of Interstate 94 and 20 to 40 percent elsewhere.

High temperatures will range from the mid-50s to lower 60s. Low temperatures will range from the mid-30s to mid-40s on Friday night and from the lower 40s to lower 50s on Saturday night.

Sunday and Sunday night

High pressure will provide dry weather. High temperatures will be in the 60s. Low temperatures will range from the mid-40s to lower 50s.

Monday into Wednesday

There continues to be much uncertainty on whether systems in the northern and southern streams will phase somewhere from the Northern Plains into the Great Lakes. If these systems phase, there will be cyclogenesis across the region. At this time, this would likely take place to our west and then the low would either track east across Upper Mississippi River Valley or north and northeast across northern Minnesota and the northern Great Lakes.

If these systems do not phase, there will be 2 weaker low pressure systems. One would move to our west and north and another would track to our south an east. With these various scenarios, there is much uncertainty on temperatures and precipitation amounts.

High temperatures will be in the 60s Monday and Tuesday and from the mid-50s to mid-60s on Wednesday. Low temperatures will range from the upper 40s to mid-50s on Monday night and from the mid-40s to lower 50s on Tuesday night.

Aviation

Issued at 556 AM CDT Thu Oct 29 2026
