Discussion
Issued at 117 PM CDT Thu Oct 29 2026
Moisture from Tropical Storm Vance will continue advecting into the region promoting isolated to scattered showers across the Brush Country. Some showers could be heavy at times which could leading to ponding of water or flash flooding. WPC currently has La Salle and Webb counties under a Marginal Risk of excessive rainfall. We'll dry out this weekend for a warm and humid Halloween before our next cool down early next week. Models continue to trend the frontal passage around Tuesday. There is currently a low to medium chance for showers and thunderstorms across the Coastal Bend and Victoria Crossroads with the best chances across the latter.
Coastal flooding is expected to continue tonight into early tomorrow morning with an elevated risk of rip currents. Water levels are expected to remain below coastal flooding thresholds tomorrow, but we will further evaluate it later tonight and tomorrow morning.
Aviation
(00Z TAFS) Issued at 605 PM CDT Thu Oct 29 2026
Ongoing showers across the Brush Country will likely continue through much of the TAF period, though ceilings will generally remain VFR tonight. Showers are expected to spread to the east through the night, with showers and isolated thunderstorms possible across all of South Texas by the morning. Conditions will generally remain VFR to MVFR, though periods of IFR ceilings and visibility will be possible, particularly in and around any of the heavier showers.
Marine
Issued at 117 PM CDT Thu Oct 29 2026
Light to moderate (BF 2-4) east to southeasterly flow will persist through much of the week, with seas generally 3 to 5 feet. Low to medium (15- 40%) chances for showers and thunderstorms will continue through Saturday. Locally higher winds and seas will be possible near thunderstorms.
Fire weather
Issued at 117 PM CDT Thu Oct 29 2026
Abundant low-level moisture and winds generally below 20 knots will limit fire weather concerns through the forecast period. Showers and thunderstorms through the work week will also work to limit fire weather concerns.
