Discussion

Issued at 1200 PM CDT Thu Oct 29 2026

A warm end to the work week proceeds unimpeded with highs around 80F a good dozen or so degrees over climo norms for this time of year.

The weekend weather forecast is a little bit wetter with a little bit better probability of rain, but the overall impact weather remains the same. Best wetting occurs between midnight Saturday night and midday Sunday, when the bulk of the now storm total cumulative precipitation of 1/2-1" amounts over western Ky occurs; lesser amounts are anticipated to the north and west of western Ky.

After a brief lull/wane in pops, still daily rain chances carry on thru next week. The onset of rain chances moves temperatures back a little closer to seasonal norms, with lower half 70s prevailing for highs this weekend thru next week. The best rain chances next week occur Tuesday into Wednesday, with amounts now ranging from about 1/2 inch in our east, upward to 2 inches possibly cumulatively totalling in our west; these projected amounts have been varying greatly from run-to-run and day-to- day, so will be monitored and adjusted accordingly as the event nears. For now, the mid week looks like our best chance for appreciable rainfall over the broader area that we've had for some time.

Aviation
