Days 8 to 10: NOAA National Blend of Models, station KI67 (Harrison/West Arpt, 17 mi), model run 10/30/2026, 4:00 PM EDT
Hazardous weather outlookIssued 10/30/2026, 2:20 AM EDT
This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for east central Indiana, southeast Indiana, northeast Kentucky, northern Kentucky, central Ohio, south central Ohio, southwest Ohio and west central Ohio.
Day one
Today and tonight.
No hazardous weather is expected at this time.
Days two through seven
Saturday through Thursday.
The probability for widespread hazardous weather is low.
1) High pressure and a somewhat cooler airmass will be found through Saturday.
2) A series of upper level disturbances will result in occasional rain chances through the first half of next week.
Discussion
KEY MESSAGE 1) High clouds will thicken over the region before daybreak Saturday, which will keep highs generally between 65 to 70 degrees.
KEY MESSAGE 2) A mid level short wave will move out of the mid Mississippi Valley Saturday night and across the Ohio Valley Sunday into Sunday night. There remains some uncertainty as to how much moisture will be pulled up into our area ahead of this, with the NAM and GFS trending towards the drier European and Canadian models which have been precip-free for the last several runs.
A deeper mid/upper level trough is forecast to progress east across the central CONUS early next week, but there remains significant differences in the timing of this as well as the timing/placement/ strength of any embedded short waves. As a result, a fair bit of uncertainty continues with the forecast through the second half of the long term period so will still broad brush with chance pops.
Aviation
VFR conditions are expected for the area TAF sites through the TAF period except for the potential for some brief MVFR vsbys with river valley location KLUK overnight. Fog formation will be dependent on how quickly the clouds move in overnight and how thick they are. Mid and high clouds will increase in coverage through the TAF period. While isolated wind gusts cannot be ruled out, winds will generally be less than 10 knots overnight and then around 10 knots during the day.
OUTLOOK: MVFR cigs possible on Monday and Wednesday. MVFR vsbys possible Wednesday.
