Discussion
Issued at 225 PM EDT Tue Oct 27 2026
Warm and breezy conditions continue today as the area remains wedged between a low pressure area over the Bahamas and a high pressure system north of Florida. Less rain showers streaming across the state today compared to yesterday. Likely due to less moisture over the area as indicated in this morning's sounding with a PWAT value less than 1 in. However, a few isolated showers could still be possible especially south of I4 this afternoon. Moisture increases Wednesday and Thursday which will likely lead to scattered showers. Winds will also decrease a bit as the high pressure to the north begins to weaken ahead of an approaching low pressure system.
A weak frontal boundary is expected to move across the area over the weekend, bringing another round of scattered showers. High pressure will then build back in behind the front. Unfortunately, no significant cool down is expected to accompany this front.
Aviation
(18Z TAFS) Issued at 225 PM EDT Tue Oct 27 2026
Mostly VFR conditions prevail through the period. A few isolated showers could move across from the east coast early tomorrow morning, possibly moving in the vicinity of southern sites. Otherwise gusty northeast winds continue.
Marine
Issued at 225 PM EDT Tue Oct 27 2026
Hazardous marine conditions continue through Wednesday night. Winds will begin to diminish slightly on Thursday but are expected to remain elevated through the end of the week. Winds should finally begin to decrease to below cautionary levels over the weekend.
Fire weather
Issued at 225 PM EDT Tue Oct 27 2026
Fire weather concerns remain low as RH values remain above critical levels.
