Key messages
- Hazardous marine conditions across the coastal waters will continue into mid week.
- Breezy areawide with a slight chance of showers.
Update
Issued at 800 PM EDT Mon Oct 26 2026
Breezy northeast flow continues to bring Atlantic moisture westward with scattered quick moving showers moving across the region this evening. These showers will taper off later this evening, then expect more scattered showers to develop Tuesday afternoon, especially over the interior and southwest Florida. Overall rainfall amounts will be minimal though as the showers will continue to move rather quickly. Overall forecast is on track, but did tweak rain chances up slightly this evening and again Tuesday afternoon.
Aviation
(00Z TAFS) Issued at 800 PM EDT Mon Oct 26 2026
Scattered showers will come to an end later this evening with mainly VFR conditions prevailing overnight into Tuesday morning. More scattered showers are expected Tuesday afternoon which could cause some brief MVFR conditions, otherwise VFR conditions should continue. Northeast winds 10 to 15 knots with some higher gusts will continue through the TAF forecast period.
Discussion
Issued at 154 PM EDT Mon Oct 26 2026
The forecast is starting to sound like a broken record. Pinned between high pressure to our north and a stalled boundary to our south, we can expect these breezy, gusty conditions to stick around most of the week. A few isolated showers could drift over from the east coast towards the west coast today and tomorrow. Overall, the chances remain relatively low for the forecast area.
By mid week the pattern will slightly shift as the boundary to the south begins to drift north. This will allow for a little extra shower coverage, especially inland and over SWFL. Unfortunately, with that added moisture also brings higher humidity, making conditions a little less comfortable. This pattern will persist into the weekend. Warm and breezy with a chance for isolated to scattered showers and possible storms each afternoon.
Marine
Issued at 154 PM EDT Mon Oct 26 2026
Hazardous marine conditions continue through the period as winds and seas remain elevated. Later in the week, winds will begin to decrease to cautionary levels, before diminishing further by the weekend. Lower than usual tides are also expected with the persistent offshore flow.
Fire weather
Issued at 154 PM EDT Mon Oct 26 2026
Fire weather concerns remain minimal as moisture continues to increase through the week. Main concern will be the gusty northeast winds through the week.
